Integrating digital technology in last-mile delivery of Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services within peri-urban suburbs during the coronavirus pandemic in Uganda

Uganda, a largely young population (>55% below 18 years) has the region’s highest fertility rate in a setting of high poverty levels. Population explosion control measures like modern contraception positively impact socio-economic growth but uptake has remained suboptimal(30%). The coronavirus pandemic disrupted an already poor supply chain infrastructure characterized by non-functional post facility follow-up, lack of access to quality SRH services. Through Rocket Health, we have integrated technology in last-mile SRH care delivery with tele-consultation (Voice or Text), SRH information dissemination via SMS, purchase SRH services and commodities via our online eShop or offline USSD code.
