Auto Box
Our Design idea is to develop Auto Box - a device installed in vehicle engines that seamlessly check and detect vehicle engine faults, emissions, provide real-time updates on the car's condition, provide an I/M readiness check and reset the emissions monitor.
These activities are monitored by Auto Box app which receives fault notifications via Bluetooth connectivity and relay fix solutions to the user(s).
Auto Box will be available across cross platforms like Android, iOS, Windows, iPhones, Linux, and tablets.

There is a prevalent ignorance and neglect by vehicle operators and drivers towards their engine checks and Safety, resulting to engine complications,
failures, damages and huge costs due to the absence of an accessible digital Vehicle engine check tool.

Hello, Auto Box hits me more as a "device" installed in a car engine that is monitored by an "autobox mobile app" via "bluetooth" that seamlessly checks and detects vehicle engine faults, emissions, emissions monitor reset, provide real-time updates on the car's condition and provide an I/M readiness check. 1. Is there technology already available on the market that performs the same or similar function to Auto Box? If so, how do you plan to have a competitive advantage over the already existing solutions?

Onwuka this sounds a great idea. i would like to know what type of vehicles are you targeting because it sounds like you will need to do the wiring of the whole vehicle that also demands alot of labor and technical know how. Secondly ,i want to advise you to aproach stakeholders in automobile industry and maybe sitdown with them so you guys can plan how your brilliant idea can be adopted by the industry with other things in picture being the safety of using electronics in the vehicle. otherwise am curious to see the final outcome of your innovation, goodluck
Great idea. This would give room for a longer life span of every vehicle since faults would easily be identified before getting worse

I would like to ask some questions regarding your idea. Clearly, it is an innovative idea and the impact would benefit more businesses. The first question that arizes, is how do you ensure safety and correct system functioning, given that such additional devices could be prone to hacking? What communication protocols are you planning to use? Since big vehicle manufacturers already incorporate system monitoring in newest cars, how is your solution better?
Last but not least, your ideas seems interesting, but it would be better to have a more contained description and more information, like statistics: who is interested in such a solution? Why are they interested?

In Kenya, there is a basic device called speed governor, drivers are known to unplug these to gain speeds. For your device,do you think it might be unplugged by similar drivers to hide some vehicles faults, and fraudulently get funds for non-existent repairs? Nevertheless it is a good idea, however, please expound on how it can be tamper proof!

hi, do you know how many vehicles in SSA have Brain Box/ECU? knowing in Kenya how people will only go to garage when there is a problem (saving costs short term), how much will you be charging and how will you educate them that preventive maintenance is cheaper than corrective maintenance?
